Lynn Wrona

Colors…Rich sunlit colors and painting from life are what inspire my paintings.

In my youth I enjoyed sketching the world around me. Pastel portraiture with Paul Leveille

and Kathryn Brodeur, improved my drawing skills during the years of raising my children.

Then,  I attended workshops, whenever possible, with such  noted artists as Jack Callahan,

Charles Movalli, Helen Van Wyk, and Rudy Caleo.

A Pastel Society Of America scholarship award gave me a chance to study with Albert Handell

at the Woodstock School of Art. Painting the New England countryside is a joy so I

was so happy to receive an artist’s Grant that allowed me to spend a month at the

Vermont Studio Center to concentrate on Plein air painting.

My oil and pastel paintings are included in collections throughout the USA

and have received more than 30 regional and national awards. Some selected awards are

“Domestic Arts,” chosen as one of the Pastel Journal’s Top 100.

“Moonshiner Cabins” received the Diane Bernhard Art Spirit Foundation Award

from the  CT Academy of Fine Arts and, the Francis and Marguerite  Walker Award

from the Academic Artists Association.
