Learn the fundamentals of alla-prima still life painting! “Alla-Prima”, italian for “At First Attempt”, is the art of creating a painting with only one layer of paint, allowing for fresh brushstrokes and brighter colors. A method often used by famous painters Sargent and Zorn, this is an excellent course for anyone who wants to gain confidence with a brush. Over the course we will complete a simple still-life painting in oils, learning the concepts of drawing, color mixing, paint application, and creating the illusion of nature. We will simplify the quickness of the method by breaking it down into 2 days, allowing for a more in-depth look at the concepts and more time to complete the paintings.
