MASTERS IN THE MORNINGS – HOMESCHOOL ART!
Ages 7 to 12 yrs.

This class will be divided into two groups based on age/ability. Projects are designed to meet and challenge each student individually.  Thursday mornings, 10 am to 1 pm
Tuition: 7 classes, No class on December 29th. $210.

We do have a sliding scale option. Email marie@workshop13.org for more information.
Instructors: Mary Remington and Abby Tolar
Max 10 students per class.

We are diving into the origins of art and craft this winter.  We start our mornings in the art studio with engaging drawing exercises, demos, and presentations, then after a snack break, we will get hands-on with the project of the week, including Adinkra block printing, paper and bookmaking, Ebru marbling,  plaster carving, coil building vessels, and fresco techniques. All of these art practices have a long cultural history. With introductions of modern art vocabulary and current artists, we will add a modern flare to these timeless processes.

This program includes all materials and a main lesson/sketchbook.  The last class is the much-anticipated art show. Students will give presentations and demonstrations to family members.

Testimonials:

My homeschooler loves art. We enrolled her in Workshop13’s Masters in the Morning program. When my child went into High School she was able to go into Honors Art in 9th grade. She reported to me that every subject in her art class she had at least a rudimentary grasp on because of Masters in the Morning. She ended the school year with a 96 in honors art. I recommend Workshop13 to anyone who asks about an art program. I’ve included a picture of my grandson that she drew using the skills taught at Workshop13!” – Heather Trulove
